Tortie Tuesday: Winnie's Wish

Tasha here. I am writing a special post today - it's about 6 cats that need homes. I was a rescued cat who probably would have died if my dad had not found me when I was a very sick 6-week-old kitten, so this is very important to me and my humans.

The cats have all been rescued by the wonderful and kind Chrystal of Daily Dose of Dogs aka Cats with your Coffee. She and her family run a small private animal rescue in Illinois, USA. If you're familiar with Chrystal's blog, you know that she and her family are caring and compassionate people who do so much to help animals.

Chrystal has a small cat house for her rescued cats, but it is full right now, so she cannot rescue any more animals until some are adopted - and there are many cats who need help where she lives. The Cat Blogosphere is hoping to help them by running a "Winnie's Wish" campaign to spread the word. (Winnie was a small gray kitten that passed away shortly after she was rescued this summer.)
Right now, Chrystal and family have 6 beautiful cats who need loving forever homes: Alice, Ash, Mooney, Possum, P.C., and Sparkles. You can read more about each of the cats on Chrystal's blog here. Here are a few photos:
Here is the beautiful Miss Alice. She has a calico tail!
And here is a photo of Ash. He looks like a mini-Franklin!

You can see many more photos on Chrystal's blog.

We are hoping to help Chrystal find forever homes for all these beautiful cats. If you can provide a home for one of these kitties, that would help so much. But we know that many of you can't (we can't either), so here are some other ways to help:

1. Spread the word! Send people to this post on Chrystal's blog: http://dogsandcats.typepad.com/blog/2010/09/winnies-wish.html
Our humans are not very good at helping us with social networking, but we know many of you have lots of connections.

2. Volunteer to provide part of a transport to forever homes.

3. Donate to help Chrystal and family with the expenses associated with their rescue. Every little bit helps! There is a PayPal button on the right sidebar of their blog under the photos of animals who need homes. Chrystal hopes in time to be able to build a larger cat house so she won't have to turn away any cat who needs help.

4. Purrs, woofs, and good thoughts are always needed, of course!

Our human has e-mailed with Chrystal and she is a really nice person. You can contact her at c3k [at] lazernetwireless.net or leave a comment on her blog.

Thanks so much - you all are the best! I'm sending you many tortie purrs.

I'm going to try to make my way to the blogs who are helping out by posting Winnie's Wish. This post is amazing!!! How wonderful to feel so supported as we try to get fantastic kitties into fantastic homes, so we can save a few more of the babies out there struggling to survive on their own.
THANK YOU !!!!!

We are so sad that so many kitties are without homes (we'll be posting shortly about a little snowshoe girl who's coming from the same high-kill shelter in Kentucky as Simon) Our Mom feel so helpless with all of these kitties in need - she's going to go over to Chystal's blog to volunteer as a possible transporter!!

ps. Please stop by our blog later tonight or tomorrow to read about Beatrice. Thanks!

We are purring that all the beautiful kitties will find forever homes very soon! The Quartet here are all shelter kitties and Mummy is passionate about helping homeless animals. We think we have a pretty good life now (even if we had to be put on a PLANE!)
